Set to leave it’s mark on listeners on October 7th, 2025
The Kitchener-Waterloo, ON based act pulls at the heartstrings by telling the story of a bitter-sweet romance coming to an end. Combining influences of Grunge Rock, Acoustic Rock, and Heavy Metal, Faulty Rivals take fans along on the rollercoaster of emotions that we all experience during a turbulent breakup.
Written by founding member Koi [Ko-ee] Getson, he takes headbangers on a cathartic journey through the the aftermath of a failed relationship by blending soft verses with heavy choruses, all the while maintaining sweet and singable melodies of all-too-relatable lyrics. Recorded and mixed in Guelph, ON by Alex Snape of Nomadic Arts (Raider, Unbowed), combined with mastering by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist) and guitar recording by Chris Rowan (Nepenthe, Zero Tolerance); the team has captured Getson’s musical prowess across the spectrum of rock’s foundational instruments in a way that Faulty Rivals has not been portrayed before. Given Faulty Rivals’ previous success with singles such as “Bliss” and “Wasting Away” on local radio stations such as CKUT 90.3 FM and CKMS 102.7 FM, as well as glowing reviews in Buzz Music LA and We Write About Music, it is almost certain that “Tears in a Vial” will continue to build the following and reputation that Faulty Rivals has within the rock and heavy metal music scenes.
